| Reading his statement, it appears he has/is going through some tough personal issues and should that be the case, then he needs to be in the best place. Maybe the investment has meant he feels he can go now.

| Quote: Rugby Raider "Cas will be sweating on the final IMG scores to see if they are in SL next season, so I wouldn’t read too much into any Coach turning Cas down.
Not sure about Maguire. Rookie coach, but good player who experienced several successful coaches and played in a great team.
Any coaching appointment is a risk. Very few sporting coaches are successful in every appointment, only Pep, Klopp, Anchelotti, Wenger and Fergie spring to mind in football. Mourinho has had mixed fortunes. In RL, Tony Smith is a classic example of a coach with very mixed success.
We go for an experienced coach you could get Smith or you could get a McNarmara outcome. If you go Rookie, we could end up with either a Hodgson or Matt Peat outcome. It really is a lottery.
I still think we are a very appealing appointment. Guaranteed SL status, big fan base, excellent facilities, pending investment, favourable player contract position with the ability to change most of the squad including potentially 5 quota spots and marquee signings.
Therefore, we shouldn’t sell ourselves too cheaply and go for any one currently available. However, I would like someone announced soon, even if they can’t start until the end of the season.'"
Good post thar.

| Interesting news about Clarke. I think it's clear he's not done well when it has come to recruitment and retention during his time as CEO. But on the commercial side he seems to have really known his stuff and kept us not only going but thriving in many aspects. The club is definitely making it sound like it's his choice but you have to wonder how true that is. He's had part of his role taken away from him with the appointment of Myler so it would be understandable if he felt somewhat annoyed by that and maybe questioning his role at the club. So it could definitely be his decision.
On the other hand though, is it a sign of the restructuring occuring due to the investment? I see that Pearson has said that he will be taking on the CEO role for the foreseeable future. Could our new investor be planning to appoint his own CEO or take the role themselves once it's all signed on the dotted line? Has Pearson sold off his majority of the club to make way for a new owner and will be stepping down into the CEO position permananently maybe?
Interesting news as I say. Interesting times overall. You never know what news is going to come out of the club next.

| The way I read it, pearson is giving the investor a chunk of his shares in return for investment (loan presumably)into the club. No direct payment to pearson but I guess some will possibly come back to him through continued repayment of his loans to the club.
clarke going will pay a chunk of myler's salary if not all of it

| Quote: Steve0 "Feeling more positive about things after this announcement'"
The most positive announcement was the return of Gaz Ellis and shows to me the club are working in the right direction for a change
His arrival has given the coach job to Grix for at least this season.
Still feel the new coach will eventually come from Australia but for me the four or five overseas players that should be coming in if we offload Sao,Tuimavave, and Okunbor is more important to the clubs future than than making a rash decision on a coach.
Get the right players including at least one big name to wet the fans appetite and we can be back in the top four/six next season thats why its important Myler spends some some time in Australia to sell the club to agents and potential players

| So is it true someone was being interviewed this week? Namely Briers? Or was that all tosh?
I think Clarke going is a clear sign that the investor/investment is all but done.

| I did see a post that someone put on another site saying they'd seen something saying Sinfield wants to get back into RL . The thing with Sinfield recently is he never hangs around for too long in a job .

| People often surround themselves with people they know and trust.
I did wonder if people like McGuire and Sinfield would be involved considering where the investment is coming from.

| Sorry if I've missed this but Total RL now have Dane Dorahy stating he's interested in the job of head coach.
Other than he assisted at Cas last season and is currently assisting at Manly, I know nothing of his coaching credentials.

| John Davdison tweeted that a bit of news is coming out at 6pm.
Last week when he tweeted that we announced Ellis returning. I wouldn't be surprised if it's us again, since it's the 6pm slot.
Edit: sounds like it could be a Sneyd extension at Salford actuallt
