Has any Super League team ever finished top of the table one season, then bottom the next?

I can't find out, so I'm thinking it's never been done.

Went through the lot, got excited in about 1932 when I saw St Helens bottom of the league, but alas they weren't champions the season beforehand. But I can confirm it has never been done. What a mind blowingly boring half an hour that was...

Wonder if anyone has ever even been on for it, like champions one season, but bottom after 10 games or something? It's a terrible thought.

It all depends upon who you define as "champions" - whether this is the team on top of the league at the end of each season, or the winners of the premiership/grand final?

No is the answer.
Only having 12 in a league and the salary cap makes it more likely.
