Without doubt, 2015 was the greatest season in the lives of a band of brothers from LS6 who came, saw and conquered all before them to end the season with a trophy cabinet packed with every piece of domestic silverware.
The twentieth summer season saw 'every second count' with a new format spawning edge of the seat encounters across the leagues. This was to be the last season of action for several Leeds Rhinos stalwarts with Kevin Sinfield, Jamie Peacock and Kylie Leuluai all drawing the curtain on sensational personal careers.
Twelve Superleague clubs started the season with hope, but only one ended it with pure joy. 'The Treble', now available on DVD charts the twists and turns of a sensational Leeds season and is a must for any Leeds Rhinos or Superleague fan.
Beautifully presented by PDI Media this is an official product of the Rugby Football League. Packaged in a four disk box set this all encompassing season review covers all the important moments of the season.
The first disk is a season review charting the highlights of weekly rounds, the super eights, the play-off semi-finals, the qualifiers, the million pound game and the Grand Final highlights.
Disk two contains the BBC coverage of the Challenge Cup final where the Rhinos won back-to-back Trophies with a professional demolition the Robins from Hull KR. It includes the match build-up, the full game including a record breaking five tries from Tom Briscoe, and the trophy presentation with skipper Kevin Sinfield lifting the penultimate trophy of his distinguished career.
Who can forget that night at the John Smiths Stadium in Huddersfield where the Rhinos were on the cusp of relinquishing the minor premiership to the Wigan Warriors, and slip down the table facing an 'away' route to the Grand Final. Despite the best efforts of the Huddersfield Giants, a last second kick by Danny McGuire was collected by Ryan Hall who went down the wing to cross in the corner and give the Rhinos their second trophy of 2015 as the RFL chartered helicopter diverted from the DW Stadium to deliver the League Leaders Shield. Disk three delivers every moment of the game which proved that every second in 2015 did indeed matter.
The final disk of an amazing quartet is the Grand Final of 2015 which saw the Rhinos up against Wigan Warriors in front of a record crowd at an electric Old Trafford. There was nothing to choose between the sides going into the game and many wondered whether it was a game too far for the Rhinos. In what was probably the best Grand Final since the season ending showpiece was inaugurated in 1998, witness every minute of action from the teams entry into the pitch, through the initial Joe Burgess opener and the match winning Josh Walters try, to the lifting of the final trophy of Kevin Sinfield's rugby league career.
All four disks are broken down into chapters allowing you to dip in and out of the important games and re-live those great memories from a fantastic season. What could be better as a Christmas gift for any Rhinos fan, or anyone who loves the greatest game.
