| We already knew who would be playing who, but until this mornings announcement we didnt know when the fixtures would be played.
This morning the RFL and Super League announced the running order for the first six rounds of the Super 8s - Superleague, the first four rounds of the Super 8s - Qualifiers, and all rounds of the Super 8s - Championship Shield.
While still warning that all fixtures are subject to alteration you can be fairly confident in the rounds where the TV matches have been selected.
The first round of the new structure are played on the weekend of 6th to 9th August.
In the top competition SKY have selected three matches for televising and will show Wigan v. Huddersfield on the Thursday night (6th), Leeds v. Warrington on the Friday (both at 8:00pm) and Catalans v. St Helens on the Saturday at 6:00pm. The Castleford v. Hull FC game will be on the Friday night and will not be televised live.
In the Qualifiers, the game between Leigh and Hull KR will be shown on the Saturday afternoon (3:00pm) on SKY with the remaining fitures; Bradford v. Sheffield, Halifax, Widnes and Salford v. Wakefield all being played on the Sunday afternoon (9th) with 3;00pm kick-offs.
All of the Championship Shield matched will kick off at 3:00pm on the Sunday afternoon (9th) when it will be; Dewsbury v. Hunslet, Featherstone v. Whitehaven, London v. Doncaster and Workington v. Batley.
In the Qualifiers and the Championship Shield the slate has been wiped clean and all teams start the new competition with zero points. In the Super 8's Super League the points earned in the first twenty-three rounds are carried forwards into the new competition. |
